Mike spoke to conference attendees regarding the need to keep an eye focused on change. Not just for the sake of change, but for positive changes, even though they may be hard chioices to make.
Our service project for this conference was the collection of small toys for Cardinal Glennon. 176 small toys such as fidget spinners, handheld spiky sensory balls, and squish balls will be delivered to the hospital to help make children's hospital experience as positive as possible. The toys will be helpful with distracting children during treatments.
Coming direct to your inboxes! We are evolving and new methods of sharing information are on the way! Be sure to add emoptimistdist@gmail.com and emo.aa.ad@gmail.com to your contacts so you will easily see various emails and newsletters from our district leadership! Yes, every member will be receiving things such as call letters for our conferences!
Welcoming the New Year
CONGRATULATIONS to Region 4 Middle America Vice President – Elect Mike Boles from EMO's own Arnold-Imperial Optimist Club!
Congratulations, and thanks to Hezekiah, Jeremiah, Mikey (and videographer mom Sandra) for this enthusiastic version of the Optimist Creed. These are our 3 boys who won our geocaching event, HUNT FOR OPTIMISM IN MOTION! that the Downtown Columbia Optimist Club held recently.
By providing hope and positive vision, Optimists bring out the best in youth, our communities, and ourselves.
Optimist International will be recognized worldwide as the premier volunteer organization that values all children and helps them develop to their full potential.
To develop optimism as a philosophy of life utilizing the tenets of the Optimist Creed; to promote an active interest in good government and civic affairs; to inspire respect for the law; to promote patriotism and work for international accord and friendship among all people; to aid and encourage the development of youth, in the belief that the giving of one’s self in service to others will advance the well-being of humankind, community life and the world.
